Palm Beach County Clerk Arrested On Child Sex Abuse Charges: FL Attorney General (patch.com) — Residents in and around West Palm Beach are learning that Palm Beach County Clerk of Court Michael Caruso has been arrested on multiple felony charges tied to alleged sexual abuse of a young family member. State officials say he has been suspended from office, is being held without bond, and that a multi-agency investigation into the allegations, which span Palm Beach and Orange counties, is still underway.

Baxter, Waldron win District 6 primaries, Whitfield defeats Johnson for District 2 (cbs12.com) — Voters in a county commission district that includes parts of West Palm Beach have chosen Erica Whitfield to replace term-limited Gregg Weiss in District 2, while Sara Baxter and Katherine Waldron won the Republican and Democratic primaries in District 6. With no November opponent, Whitfield will take the District 2 seat.

Palm Beach County's main airport, recently renamed President Donald J. Trump International Airport, officially switched its IATA code on Tuesday. State data shows decreasing home insurance premiums in 51 Florida counties (wflx.com) — Homeowners across Palm Beach County, including West Palm Beach, are seeing only modest relief as average property insurance premiums tick down slightly in early 2026. State data show small decreases in all local counties, but many residents say they still feel squeezed. One county commissioner, who dropped wind coverage on his West Palm Beach home, reports saving tens of thousands, though experts warn that strategy carries serious storm risks.
