This year's Global Peace Film Festival starts 9/15 at the Enzian Theater with a screening of the award-winning American drama, A Break in the Rain.
The story follows Jake Watson, a man who has been traveling for ten years since his wife’s death from cancer. After his son also dies of the same illness, Jake returns home to his daughter-in-law and her family. To help out, he takes a job as a limo driver for a traveling singer, Catriona Walsh. Over the course of a two-week road trip, Jake and Catriona’s shared journey becomes a path toward healing for both of them.
From Sept. 15–27, 2026, the Global Peace Film Festival returns with films, conversations and shared experiences that invite audiences to look closer, think deeper and imagine what is possible. Through stories of humanity, resilience, justice, culture and hope, the festival brings together filmmakers, changemakers and audiences to explore how perspective can deepen understanding and inspire action.
