Car Goes Up Tow Truck Ramp, Rockets Into Air On GA Highway
A 21-year-old woman from Florida was hospitalized with serious injuries after her Nissan Altima launched into the air.

VALDOSTA, GA — A heart-stopping moment caught on a police body camera shows a sedan driving up the ramp of a tow truck and rocketing into the air in the middle of a Georgia highway last week.
According to a police report, which was reviewed by Patch, a 21-year-old woman from Florida was hospitalized with serious injuries after her Nissan Altima launched into the air and traveled 120 feet down the highway in Lowndes County.
The Nissan was driving in the left lane on Highway 38, where a tow truck was sitting with its emergency lights activated as it attempted to recover a crashed car, according to the report. The Nissan rear-ended the tow truck, causing the Nissan to be vaulted over the tow truck and fly into the air before striking the driver's side of a third vehicle traveling in the right lane.

Police body camera footage reviewed by Patch shows stunned bystanders and law enforcement watching as the scene unfolds before rushing to try to help those who were injured.
A Lowndes County sheriff’s deputy was hit by flying debris, but his injuries were not life-threatening, the report said.
