Planet Fitness To Offer Free Workouts To Georgia High School Students

Georgia teens can work out at Planet Fitness for free May 16 through Aug. 31 as part of the company's High School Summer Pass initiative. It’s part of the company's High School Summer Pass initiative.

Bartow Band Director Honored As Georgia Teacher Of The Year

Michael Kobito, who teaches music theory and leads the band at Woodland High School in Cartersville, received the honor April 30. Under his direction, the marching band has been invited to march in the National Cherry Blossom Parade in Washington, D.C. and the London New Year's Day Parade in 2023.

Cobb County Judge Named 2022 'Magistrate of the Year'

Cobb County Magistrate Judge Quinn Kasper, of Smyrna, has been named the 2022 Magistrate of the Year. Judge Quinn Kasper received the title in late April at the Spring Executive Committee Meeting.

Nauti Dog Grill Specialty Restaurant Opens At Alpharetta City Center

The nautical-themed gourmet hot dog restaurant, Nauti Dog Grill, will serve various kinds of hot dogs, cheese steaks, tater tots and more. Nauti Dog Grill will join Alpharetta City Center as the latest addition to its roster of over 30 upscale retailers, restaurants and service providers.

Smyrna City Hall Welcomes New Exhibit Of Local Fine Art

A new collection of 21 pieces from six local artists will be available to view from May through July. The exhibit features watercolors, acrylic paintings, digital illustrations, photography, and alcohol ink abstract paintings.

Brown Bag Concerts Return To Marietta In May

Marietta Parks, Recreation & Facilities has brought back the popular Brown Bag Lunchtime Concerts beginning May 5. The Brown Bag Concert Series features free music from noon - 1 p.m. every Thursday in May and September.
