GA Warden Assaulted By Inmate With Homemade Weapon: Reports
The assault on the warden forced a lockdown Wednesday at Telfair State Prison, a media report says.
GEORGIA — A Georgia prison was placed on locked early Wednesday after a warden was assaulted by a Telfair State Prison inmate with a homemade weapon, according to media reports.
The assault happened during a "shakedown to remove contraband" from a dorm, where inmates would not lock down, WJCL reported.
The warden is recovering, and authorities used less-lethal munitions to get compliance from the inmates, the outlet reported.
