Metro ATL To Go Under Wind Advisory Due To Possible Showers
Wednesday is forecast to be wet and rainy in parts of the metro area.
GEORGIA — Several metro Atlanta counties will be under a wind advisory starting Wednesday morning due to a line showers and a cold front traveling northwest from the west, weather officials told Patch.
The wind advisory will go into effect at midnight Wednesday and will last until midnight Thursday for Bartow, Cherokee, Forsyth, Paulding, Cobb, Fulton, Gwinnett, Clarke, Douglas, DeKalb and other counties.
The showers are expected to start around 6 a.m. and clear out around early to mid-afternoon Wednesday, said Carmen Hernandez, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service's Peachtree City Office.

Wind gust speeds can are anticipated to reach 35-40 mph but can climb as high as 45-50 mph. Hernanadez said trees and power lines could come down at the latter speed.
She said a brief tornado cannot be ruled out, particularly for areas in central to southeast Georgia.
