This Popular Trader Joe's Item Recalled: What GA Shoppers Should Know

Nearly 37 million pounds of fried rice, ramen and dumplings were part of the recall, including a freezer-aisle favorite from Trader Joe's.

Nearly 37 million pounds of fried rice, ramen and dumplings — including a freezer-aisle favorite from Trader Joe's — have been recalled over concerns that they may be contaminated with glass, according to federal authorities.

The recall by Ajinomoto Foods North America Inc. was initially announced last month, but it was expanded this week to include more than 33.6 million additional pounds of chicken and pork fried rice, ramen and shu mai dumplings, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service reported Tuesday.

The expansion includes 16 products made between Oct. 21, 2024, and Feb. 26, 2026, under brand names Ajinomoto, Kroger, Ling Ling, Tai Pei and Trader Joe’s. Among the Trader Joe's items included in the recall is the brand's popular chicken fried rice.

The items were shipped to retail locations nationwide. There were no confirmed reports of injury due to consumption of the products as of Tuesday, authorities said.

“Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them,” the announcement said. “These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.”

The product list and label images of the recalled items are available on the USDA website.
