Possible Showers, Thunderstorms Predicted For Metro Atlanta
Potential rain is expected to last through the daytime and evening hours Friday ahead of a dry weekend in metro Atlanta.
GEORGIA — While Friday could be a wet day with possible scattered showers and thunderstorms predicted, the weekend should be pretty clear, weather officials told Patch Friday.
Though a hazardous weather outlook was issued Friday for metro Atlanta, any potential thunderstorms are not expected to be severe, Carmen Hernandez, meteorologist with the National Weather Service's Peachtree City office, told Patch.
The alert was issued for Bartow, Cherokee, Clarke, Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Forsyth, Gwinnett, Fulton, Paulding and several other Georgia counties.

Hernandez said pea-sized hail and winds of up to 60 mph are possible with these storms, which she deemed typical for summertime weather.
The rain could last throughout the day and the evening Friday. Due to cloud cover, temperatures are expected to be cooler.
Both Saturday and Sunday are forecast to be dry with temperatures in the low 90s.
According to the weather outlook, scattered thunderstorms are predicted daily through Thursday of next week, with a peak in rain activity expected in the afternoons and evenings.
Updates will be posted to the weather service's Twitter page, the weather service's Facebook page and on its website.
