Quaker Oats Recalls Granola Bars, Cereal Over Salmonella Risk In GA
The recall includes several types of Quaker Chewy granola bars and cereals. The products were sold in all 50 states.
GEORGIA — The Quaker Oats Company is recalling certain granola bars and granola cereals over fears the products may be contaminated with salmonella.
Salmonella infections can cause serious illnesses in young children or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Those infected with salmonella may have symptoms including fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare cases, the bacterial disease can be fatal.
The full list of recalled foods includes multiple kinds of Quaker Chewy granola bars, Quaker Puffed Granola and Quaker Simply Granola cereals.

The recalled granola bars were also included in several snack mix variety boxes, the company said.
The affected products were sold in all 50 U.S. states and U.S. territories, including in Georgia, the company said.
In an alert posted Friday, Quaker said it had received no confirmed reports of illness related to the products covered by the recall.

The company is asking consumers to check their pantries and dispose of any affected products. Consumers can also contact Quaker's customer support line or visit the recall website for more information and reimbursement.
