2 Injured In Electrical Fire At Atlanta High-Rise: Reports

Two people were injured in an incident at Atlantic Station while doing maintenance, reports said.

ATLANTA, GA — Two people were reportedly injured in an electrical fire at a high-rise building in Midtown Atlanta, according to multiple reports.

Atlanta police officers responded to the building at 271 17th St. N.W. after receiving reports of a possible explosion, WSB-TV reported. Atlanta Fire and Rescue also responded to the building, reports said.

A spokesperson for Atlantic Station told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that there was an electrical fire but not an explosion. No events at Atlanta Station were impacted, they said.

The managers of the building at 17th Street said two contractors were injured while maintenance work was being done, WSB-TV reported. They were being treated at a hospital.

Roads were closed briefly but reopened.

According to WSB, the building where the incident took place houses several law offices and the office of U.S. Sen. Jon Ossoff.
