Severe Weather, Heavy Rain, Wind Gusts Wednesday In GA
Storms may become severe overnight in Georgia, with potentially high wind gusts, brief tornadoes, and heavy rain.
GEORGIA — Severe weather is possible Wednesday night into Thursday across north Georgia, according to the National Weather Service.
Thunderstorms will move into north Georgia on Wednesday night, with storms potentially becoming strong to severe overnight. The primary threats with any severe storms will
be damaging wind gusts, brief tornadoes and heavy rain, according to the NWS.
On Thursday, isolated to scattered strong to severe thunderstorms are possible.

A wind advisory is in effect from 11 a.m. Wednesday to 8 a.m. Thursday for much of north and central Georgia.
Winds of 15-25 mph and gusts up to 45 mph are expected, and may cause scattered power outages and downed trees. Due to the gusty winds and dry fuels, high fire danger conditions are expected across the area this afternoon and evening, the NWS said.

Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down, and a few power outages may result.
With a surge of moisture moving in ahead of the overnight storm system, the humidity level will likely bottom out in the low to mid 30s for several hours Wednesday afternoon.
With dry fuels, high fire danger conditions are expected for any ongoing fires. Burning outdoors is not recommended.
