Timeline Announced For Cash Payments From Kemp

Emailed prepaid Mastercards from the state will be sent by Oct. 11 while physical cards will take longer.

ATLANTA, GA — Recipients of Gov. Brian Kemp's prepaid Mastercard funds of up to $350 should get their physical cards in the mail within four to six weeks while virtual cards will be sent sooner, the Georgia Department of Human Services announced Friday.

People receiving the virtual card should have it emailed to them by Oct. 11, department officials said.

According to the department, people can still opt in through the Georgia Gateway portal if they want a virtual card.

Kemp began rolling out his financial assistance program this week, offering enrollees in certain state programs up to $350.

It was initially unclear when people would get their mailed payments.

The funds are available for people enrolled in Georgia's Medicaid, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance programs. The cutoff date to enroll in the programs and be eligible for the cash payments was July 31.

Medicaid recipients can be enrolled in PeachCare for Kids.
