Winter Weather Advisory Issued For Metro Atlanta

GEORGIA — A winter weather advisory is in effect for parts of North Georgia and metro Atlanta through Friday night, according to the National Weather Service.

Weather officials said light snow up to 2 inches is possible in areas at high elevations. A dusting to a half-inch is possible for other areas.

Temperatures may drop below freezing after the sun sets, according to the weather service. Potential hazards could disrupt driving conditions.

Bartow, Clarke, Cherokee, DeKalb, Forsyth, Gwinnett, Paulding and Fulton counties are under the alert.
