Largest Carnival for Special Needs Children

Acworth-based non-profit organization, The Golden Soldiers, has partnered with Alpharetta's North Point Community Church to host what organizers call, "The Largest Free Carnival in History for Special Needs Children."

The Golden Soldiers is a faith based, 501c(3) non-profit organization focused on spreading the meaning of the Golden Rule as well as hosting events in honor of individuals with special needs. On June 2nd The Golden Soldiers invites the whole family to attend "Big Day Out," and enjoy carnival games, inflatables, video games, music, face-painting and more free from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  For free entry, pre-register at their web site.

Started by , after his longtime friend and Fraternity brother Allen Hill called in 2007 to tell him that he was heading back to the war in Iraq, The Golden Soldiers aims to spread the meaning of the Golden Rule: doing for others as we would have them do for us.  Turner's friend had already served one tour of duty. Turner told his friend, “I know this sounds so cliché, but if our world could just remember the Golden Rule – treat others how you want to be treated, then none of this would be happening.” The idea for The Golden Soldiers sprung from there.
