The Casey Anthony Trial: An introduction
Millions of people stayed tuned to hear if Casey Marie Anthony was going to be guilty or not guilty.

This trial had millions of views. People from all over the United States and even in other countries stayed tuned in to hear if Miss. Casey Marie Anthony was going to be guilty or not guilty.
I was probably one of the millions of those who stayed up to date with the trial. In fact, I was glued to either Headline News or to ClickOrlando's website to find out if this "tot mom" was going to be found innocent or guilty.
In order not to start a "patch" riot, I will refrain from giving you my opinion about the entire case. In the coming weeks, I will be watching the trial all over again, and bring you details that occurred during the 33 days of the murder trial.

For those who have not been in tune or have not heard about this case, let me give you a little background about it.
Casey Marie Anthony, mother to Miss. Caylee Marie Anthony, was arrested in connection with the disappearance of her almost 3 year old daughter. Casey Anthony did not report her missing daughter to authorities, and when asked why she didn't, she said that she was trying to figure out herself where her daughter went. First it was said that her daughter Caylee drowned in the family pool, but then it was said that she was kidnapped from the "Zanny." (More about the Zanny in another post).

The case was approximately 33 days long, over 400 pieces of evidence were introduced to his Honor and to the jury selected for this proceeding and over 90 witnesses were called to testify. The trial got heated at times and there of course was tears from Casey Marie Anthony.
As most of you know, she was found NOT GUILTY on the 3 major charges that she was facing. These were:
Charge 1: Murder, Felony
Charge 2: Aggravated Child Abuse
Charge 3: Aggravated Manslaughter
She was also charge with an additional 4 counts of lying to police during an investigation. So she finally walked out of of the Orange County Correctional Facility on Sunday July 17, 2011 at 12:15AM. She walked out with her attorney Mr. Jose Beaz, and got into an unmarked SUV, and was taken to an undisclosed location.
Over the next few weeks I will take you on a journey through each day of the trial. Since I am a criminal justice major, I think that it is important to educate people on how the jury came up with their not guily verdicts. A lot of people have asked me "Why did she get off so easy." This is what I will be explaining during my series of "The Casey Anthony Trial."
I hope that you enjoy, and can get a better understanding of the case.
