Cobb Will See Slight Foreclosure Jump in September

The number of foreclosure notices for this month is lower than it was at this time in 2013.

Slightly more Cobb County homes will be on the auction block at the courthouse in September, if notices in The Marietta Daily Journal are carried through.

According to the MDJ, the legal notices regarding foreclosures on homes must run for four consecutive weeks before they can be auctioned off. This month, 277 homes have been published in the legal section of the newspaper, compared to 265 such auction notices during the month of July.

In September of 2013, 475 homes were listed in the legal notices section of the paper. This month’s total is 42 percent lower.
