GREG JONES NAMED 2014 VOLUNTEER OF YEAR
Greg Jones, a resident of Acworth, will receive the YMCA of Metro Atlanta's 2014 Volunteer of the Year award.
ATLANTA (Oct. 24, 2014) — Greg Jones, a resident of Acworth, will receive the YMCA of Metro Atlanta’s 2014 Volunteer of the Year award for his service at the Northwest Family YMCA in Kennesaw. He will be honored at the annual volunteer recognition dinner Monday, November 10, 2014.
Jones’ family belonged to the YMCA of Greater Charlotte. His brothers and he swam there for most of their competitive swimming years.
“I receive much more from my Y experience than I give,” said Jones. “I have the opportunity to serve and love others. I share my YMCA story with the community and see the smiles of children and adults with the interaction of our staff and fellow members. To witness individuals feeling loved and not judged is extremely fulfilling.”

Jones is the North America sales manager at the SUN Automation Group. He chairs the Northwest Y’s advisory board and the Christian emphasis committee.
“I am passionate about the Y and the opportunities it offers,” said Jones. “I enjoy and am called to connect the community to the Y’s mission.”
