Harrison Looking to Clinch Playoff Berth

The high school baseball season has been going on for over 10 weeks now, but for most teams it ends Friday.

will be hosting the game of the day in the Acworth Patch. The Hoyas will be looking to earn a spot in next week's state tournament, but it won't be easy, they're going to have to knock off first place Hillgrove to do it.

If Harrison – currently tied for third in Region 4-AAAAA with a 8-5 record – can get past the region leading Hawks on Friday at home, then the Hoyas – pending tiebreakers – will earn a three or four seed heading in to postseason play.

However, should Harrison slip up in their regular season finale, they could find themselves out of the postseason altogether. Just last week, the Hoyas looked like a surefire bet for the playoffs, however, they have lost three of their last four region games.

Pending the outcome of other games, the Hoyas could still qualify for the playoffs even with a loss.

at Cedartown 5:55 p.m.

at Campbell 5:55 p.m.

Hillgrove at Harrison 5:55 p.m.

at Trion 5 p.m.

Girls Track

Allatoona will compete in the Region 7-AAA Track and Field Championships at Dalton High School, 4 p.m.
