John Irwin Whitaker, age 58, of Stockbridge, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2013. Mr. Whitaker was a general contractor for over 20 years. He is survived by his wife, Anita; daughter, Rachel; son and daughter-in-law, Noah and Lindsay; grandchildren, Jude and Salem; mother, Marianne Whitaker; sister, Julie Plunkett; and brother, Jerry Whitaker. A memorial service will be held Thursday at Eagles Landing First Baptist Church theater room at 5:00 p.m., visitation at 4:00 p.m.
