The Georgia Department of Natural Resources and the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office are looking for an Acworth man wanted for further questioning in an investigation of a hunting trip that turned deadly.
Warrants have been taken out for Christopher K. Carver of Acworth, who is accused of making false statements to officers investigating the shooting death of Dennis David Orr of Robbinsville, North Carolina, said Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement Division spokesperson Mark McKinnon.

On Sunday, Oct. 26, Carver and Orr were deer hunting near Hunt Road in the extreme southwest portion of the county when Orr, 51, was fatally shot in the abdomen, McKinnon said.
Several witnesses — including Carver — were interviewed in the case. However, McKinnon said Carver, who was “briefly” interviewed, allegedly gave false statements to officers conducting the interviews.

Carver, 41, was last seen driving a black model GMC extended pickup truck with decals advertising Coldcreek Outfitters on the door and tailgate. McKinnon said those decals may have been removed.
