Although the man is barricaded inside the home and is not likely to escape, both North Cobb High School and Awtrey Middle School were placed on a Code Red lockdown due to the situation.

The AJC reports that the lockdown was upgraded to a Code Yellow situation at approximately 11 a.m., which means that school is operating as normal but with heightened security.

Police have been trying to contact the man barricaded inside the house, but have not had any success yet.
