The latest incident took place last week when police were dispatched around 11:45 p.m. April 5 to the Belmont at Park Bridge apartments in response to a report of a peeping Tom.
When the responding officer arrived on the scene, he noticed a gray Honda Accord leaving the area of Sweetberry Court, traveling at a high rate of speed without any lights on, according to an incident report released by the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety.
The officer activated his lights and sirens, and the vehicle continued to drive at a high rate of speed. The vehicle came to a sudden stop in front of building 23, and the officer made contact with the driver, identified as Habbal.
Habbal allegedly told officers he was "coming to visit his father, who resides at Sweetberry Court," according to the incident report.
Habbal was asked why he was driving away from Sweetberry Court, and he told the officer he "got lost and forgot where his father lived," the report states. The report notes Habbal also said he "forgot" to turn his headlights on while driving, and could not explain why he was speeding in the residential complex.
"While speaking with Habbal, I observed his zipper on his pants was open," according to the report. "I asked Habbal if he was walking around [the] apartment and he said no."
Meanwhile, another officer was able to retrieve the complainant, who told police he was outside his apartment unit on Sweetberry Court talking on the phone. The man told police he saw Habbal walking in the parking lot and thought he was following him.
The man said he became frightened, so he got into his car and allegedly watched Habbal "look into his apartment windows for about 30 seconds to a minute," according to the report. The man told police he saw Habbal run away and didn't see him for a few minutes.
However, once he exited his car, the man told police Habbal walked towards him, greeted him and got into his Honda Accord.
The resident was able to identify Habbal on the scene, so officers placed Habbal under arrest. Habbal was booked into the Fulton County Jail's Alpharetta annex on April 6. Records show Habbal remains at the Fulton County Jail.
