Alpharetta Candidate Forums Start In April

The Alpharetta Business Association will host the forums at City Hall.

ALPHARETTA, GA — The Alpharetta Business Association will host candidate forums for residents and business owners to learn about the people running for the vacant mayor and City Council seats in the May 22 special election.

The first forum will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 23 for the City Council Posts 3 and 4 seats. Candidates for Post 3, Katie Harding and Karen Richard, and Post 4 contenders John Hipes and Clifford Martin will be participating.

On Tuesday, May 1, Alpharetta mayoral candidates Jim Gilvin and Chris Owen will share their vision for the city in the same format ABA has outlined for the City Council forum. This forum will also get underway at 6:30 p.m., with both sessions ending at 8:30 p.m. (For more news like this, find your local Patch here. Both forums will be held in the multi-purpose room on the first floor Alpharetta City Hall, which is at 2 Park Plaza. The forums will be moderated by ABA President John Ray, and will feature opening statements from each candidate as well as the question and answer session. The forums are free and open to the public.

This event is independently presented by the ABA and has no affiliation with the city of Alpharetta aside from the free use of the room for a public information event.
