Alpharetta High School Bomb Threat Remains Under Investigation
The school evacuated students and staff members to the football field while police canvassed the facility.

ALPHARETTA, GA -- Fulton County Schools police continue to investigate a bomb threat that forced students, teachers and staff to evacuate Alpharetta High School Thursday afternoon.
The threat was sent via email Thursday afternoon to the school, which forced officials to move students and staff to the football field while Alpharetta police conducted a sweep of the facility.
Alpharetta school officials eventually dismissed students around 3:30 p.m. and the school system was given the all-clear around 5:30 p.m. March 9 to reoccupy the building, said Fulton schools spokesperson Susan Hale.

Since Friday is a teacher workday and a student holiday, Alpharetta High School staff members are allowing students to retrieve any items left behind during the evacuation.
Hale added police continue to work their lead, "but feel confident they will catch the person responsible."
