Alpharetta To Host Free Fall Vegetable Gardening Class

The class will be held Aug. 24 at the Alpharetta Public Works Department's offices on Hembree Road.

ALPHARETTA, GA -- Our extended growing season allows us to take advantage of three seasons of vegetable gardening.

If you already have a garden, you can extend its productivity. If you are just beginning, you can learn how to get started without working in the heat of summer. Autumn’s mild temperatures create perfect growing conditions for cool-season crops; such as, lettuce, kale and spinach.

To take advantage of these variations, the city of Alpharetta and the Alpharetta Natural Resources Commission will host a workshop next week designed to give you the tools to help you succeed in gardening.
