Alpharetta/Milton: What's Open, Closed Amid Coronavirus Concerns
From businesses to governments, closures are being announced around Alpharetta and Milton often. Keep up to date with what is still open.
ALPHARETTA/MILTON, GA — With cases of the new coronavirus increasing daily in Georgia, cities around the state have closed businesses, government offices and cancelled events. See what is closed below, and let us know in the comments if we missed any closings.

ALPHARETTA
- Effective immediately, all City of Alpharetta facilities are closed to the public through April 12. This will not impact the provision of public safety and other essential services, as city employees will staff fire stations and other public safety facilities as usual.
- The City of Alpharetta is suspending all parks and recreation programs through March 30.
- The city is closing its Adult Activity Center, which provides recreation programs to seniors, until further notice.
- The public is reminded that many city services such as filing for most permits, paying utility and tax bills, and reporting service needs such as potholes, code enforcement violations, and traffic issues can always be done online by visiting https://www.alpharetta.ga.us/report-pay-apply. Many non-emergency police services can also be accessed online at https://p2c.alpharetta.ga.us/p2c/.
- All city meetings, including meetings of the city’s boards and commissions, are cancelled through April 12.
- All public special events organized or sponsored by the City of Alpharetta or for which a City of Alpharetta special events permit has been issued or is required are cancelled through April 12. All indoor and outdoor rentals of city facilities are also cancelled for this period.
- Visit the city's COVID-19 response website, https://alpharettadps.blogspot.com/, for additional response measures as well as the latest guidance and information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other federal, state, and county public health agencies.
- Alpharetta American Legion Post 201 has canceled the organization’s regular monthly meeting scheduled for Tuesday evening March 17. In addition, American Legion sponsored dances and bingo, as well as any other meeting hall activities are also canceled for the next two weeks.
- The Alpharetta American Legion Post 201 is also extending until April 30 the deadline for submitting applications for its annual college scholarship program. The $1,000 scholarships are awarded to individuals based on scholastic excellence, community service and school activities. In addition, applicants must submit an original minimum 500 word essay on the topic: “What the word veteran means to me.” Applicants must be sponsored by a member of the American Legion and may obtain an application by contacting Scholarship Chairman Tom Billings at tombill03@comcast.net.
- The Alpharetta Convention and Visitor's Bureau is updating a list of businesses open and closed online.
MILTON
- The City of Milton is open for business. But if you can handle any city-related issues online or over the phone, do so:

- Request a Police Report Online
- The Milton Police Department has instituted some precautions to protect both the public and officers during the current environment, including asking citizens to conduct routine matters online or by phone rather than visiting the police department.
- For non-emergency police services, call Milton's dispatch line 24/7 at 678-297-6300, Option 1. If in doubt about which means to contact the police, call 911

- To reach the Milton Police Department administrative offices during regular business hours, call 678-242-2570 or 678-242-2770
- As possible, Milton Police officers will take reports over the phone once complainant contact information has been received by either the dispatch center or police administrative staff
- Milton Municipal Court: not in session through April 12
- City rental reservations (indoor and outdoor facilities) are canceled through April 12
- Thomas Byrd Sr. House (Milton Senior Center): Closed beginning Monday, March 16, through March 30
- All Milton Parks and Recreation programming is canceled through April 12
- All Parks & Rec rental facility reservations (all fields, Bethwell Community Center, Community Place, Broadwell Pavilion) are canceled through April 12
- Milton parks are open to the public
- Village Volunteer meetings are canceled through April 13
- The City of Milton has extended the deadline for occupational tax (business license) renewal to April 30. You can fill out the paperwork HERE.
FULTON COUNTY
- Early voting has been suspended. The Georgia Presidential Preference Primary and Special Election is now scheduled for May 19. For details on voting, visit the Secretary of State website.
- All Fulton County libraries are closed until further notice.
- The library is asking that patrons not return books during this closure. Library staff will adjust due dates and waive fines.
- Digital resources such as Hoopla, Libby, Overdrive, Freegal, and more are always available online.
- All public meetings, events and outreach activities are canceled or postponed at this time. The Board of Commissioners’ regular and recess meetings will continue as scheduled. Proclamation presentations will be canceled.
- All Fulton County senior centers will be closed to the public starting Monday, March 16. Meal delivery is being arranged for existing senior center clients.
- All Fulton County Arts Centers & Wolf Creek Amphitheater will be closed to the public starting Saturday, March 14, 2020 until further notice. All Wolf Creek Amphitheater programming is suspended until further notice.
- Training centers for Developmental Disabilities will be closed and Group therapy will be suspended. Clients may contact the facility where they receive services for further information.
- Greenbriar Mall and North Fulton Service Center offices will be closed. All other offices will be open with limited staff.
- The Atlanta Judicial Circuit has issued an order declaring a judicial emergency in Fulton County. Effective Monday, March 16, no jurors or grand jurors should report, and no jury trials will be held for 30 days.
