Milton High School Marching Band - Grand Champions

The Milton High School Marching Band received Grand Champion Honors at the Creekview Classic Marching Competition this past Saturday.

Following months of intense practice, all their efforts paid off as the the Milton High School Marching Band was rewarded with Grand Champion Honors this past Saturday, October 27th, at the Creekview Classic Marching Competition much to the delight of the band, their staff, and the crowd on hand.

Performing their show entitled, “WIRED”, Milton marched before a panel of distinguished judges as well as a packed stadium of avid fans. Competing against twenty-two other marching bands, they won not only the Gold Grand Champion Award for their class, they also took the coveted High Grand Champion Award for musicianship as the best out of all the bands competing that night.

Under the direction of Chris Shumick, Director of Bands, as well as Percussion Director Mark Kapral, and Guard Directors Bobby Jones and Kelly Theilemann, the Milton High School Marching Band electrified the crowd with their performance. Said Chris Shumick after the show, “I’m so proud of these kids. This was definitely our best performance of the year.”

The Milton Marching Band’s next competition is scheduled for this coming Saturday, Nov. 3, for the Old South Marching Festival held at Newnan High School. For more information, visit www.miltonband.org.
