Privacy and Data Security Attorney David F. Katz To Lead Nelson Mullins’ Information Management Team in Atlanta

ATLANTA – An attorney who focuses on privacy and data security issues has joined Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough's Atlanta office as a partner. David F. Katz counsels clients on the development, management, and oversight of privacy and compliance programs. He also assists them in developing policies and procedures, education strategies, implementation of auditing and monitoring controls, reviews of disciplinary and enforcement activities, and risk assessments.

Before joining the firm, Mr. Katz spent seven years with Aaron’s Inc., a sales and lease company in residential furniture, consumer electronics, home appliances, and accessories with more than 2,000 company-operated and franchised stores in 48 states and Canada. He served as legal counsel for the corporation before being named Senior Legal Counsel, Compliance and Privacy Manager. He has also worked as a Senior Assistant District Attorney for the Office of the District Attorney for Fulton County and as a Senior Assistant State’s Attorney for the Office of the State's Attorney for Baltimore City. Mr. Katz also served in the United States Army Reserve as a Captain in the Judge Advocate General Corps.
