Strands Studio for Hair in Alpharetta has been named a Salon of Distinction in the nationally acclaimed “Salons of the Year” interior design competition sponsored by SALON TODAY, the leading business publication for the professional salon industry.
Owned by Forsyth County resident, Edie Ciccia, strands distinguished itself among approximately 100 qualified entries, and is featured in the June 2012 issue of SALON TODAY magazine.
“In this year’s competition, we witnessed a distinct trend of salons designing with the customer experience in mind,” says Stacey Soble, editor in chief of SALON TODAY. “Whether it was a signature shampoo service, the use of iPads at the styling station or an in-salon photo studio, these salons distinguished their businesses with unique experiences, then they designed those experiences right into the decor.”

Salons participating in the annual competition were either newly constructed or remodeled salons that opened between January 1, and December 31, 2011. strands STUDIO FOR HAIR opened in spring 2011 and was recognized by judges for its beautifully appointed color bar, meticulous attention to design details, and elegant mosaic walls.
The salon was described as upscale, elegant, and warm.

strands was one of 16 salons named as a "Salon of Distinction," and a grand-prize winner and three runners-up were also chosen. Salons were judged in six design categories: Use of Color, Lighting, Flooring, Efficient Use of Space, Consistency of Design and Overall Aesthetics.
