Apartments, Brewery Proposed For Downtown Alpharetta
A developer is petitioning the city to rezone about 12 acres of land on South Main Street near Devore Road to accommodate the plan.

ALPHARETTA, GA -- A proposal has been submitted to the city of Alpharetta to transform 12 acres of land into a mixed-use village featuring housing, retail and office space.
Downtown Main LLC/Duke Land Group has submitted an application to rezone 12 acres from C-2 (commercial) to DT-MU (downtown mixed use) the project. The applicant is also petitioning for a conditional use to allow for-rental homes and a variance to allow for a five-story height limit.
According to the developer's application, the proposal would "facilitate the rehabilitation of a downtown site that has been dilapidated for years and is in poor quality today."

The site is is situated along South Main Street near Devore Road. According to a rendering provided by the company, the development could feature a 60,500-square-foot brewery below two stories of office space; 29,500 square feet of retail space, 6,500 square feet of restaurant space, 80 condominium units, a six-story parking deck, a six-story multi-family building with 200 units and 64 single family detached homes.
"The project is intended to be a true mixed use community that is targeting to be different from other developments in the region," Duke states.

The Alpharetta Planning Commission is scheduled to hear the case at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3. Its recommendation will be taken up by the Alpharetta City Council at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14.
Both meetings will be held in the Council Chambers at Alpharetta City Hall, which is located at 2 Park Plaza.
