Auburn, Fulton Schools Enter Dual Enrollment Partnership
Auburn University and Fulton County Schools have created the district's first out-of-state dual enrollment program.

FULTON COUNTY, GA — For those students who want to get a jump on their college education, Fulton County Schools has added another resource. The recently announced partnership with Auburn University in Alabama will create the district’s first out-of-state dual enrollment program.
Auburn faculty will deliver online courses as part of their Auburn First curriculum. Students who are accepted will pay Auburn First Resident fees (in-state) and applicants can receive a fee waiver based on financial hardship. Students who successfully complete a course will receive academic credit towards high school and up to 24 credit post-secondary hours.
“Implementing an out-of-state dual enrollment program is another creative way for Fulton County Schools to continue offering increased opportunities to its students,” Superintendent Mike Looney said in a news release. “This program becomes part of our toolkit designed to provide unique educational options to our already robust curriculum.”

As part of the program, the district will maintain two “Urban Learning Centers” to house Auburn resources. One location is in Alpharetta, while the other location will be in the southern part of the county.
The partnership will officially receive students in fall 2022.
