Avalon Sends Truck Of Supplies To Bahamas For Disaster Relief
The Alpharetta community banded together to fill a truck with donations bound for the Abaco Islands for Hurricane Dorian relief efforts.

ALPHARETTA, GA — In the aftermath of Hurricane Dorian, North American Properties (NAP), through its philanthropic arm NAP Cares, has partnered with its communities to collect a truck load’s worth of much-needed supplies for the Abaco Islands, a group of islands and barrier cays in the Bahamas. Following the storm’s devastation, NAP hosted 10 community events, such as live music and yoga classes, at Avalon in Alpharetta and Colony Square in Midtown Atlanta, which focused on gathering donations and raising funds for restoration efforts.
On Tuesday at 12:30 p.m., a truck was loaded with hundreds of donated supplies at Colony Square. Once loaded, the supplies will take the route outlined below to the Abaco Islands:
- The truck will be driven to the Caribbean Procurement Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where the items will be admitted to the Shipping and Logistics Warehouse.
- After the products are reviewed, they will be transferred by boat and received in Guana Cay, where the Bahamian people will have the opportunity to retrieve the donated goods.
