AYFA Expands Reach, Renames Itself As The North Atlanta Football League
The program, in its 40th anniversary, will also become the official youth feeder program for Cambridge, Alpharetta and Milton high schools.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the formation of the Alpharetta Youth Football Association.
At its inception in 1975, AYFA aligned itself with the only high school in the area, Milton High School.

Over recent years, the Alpharetta-Milton community has seen exponential growth and new high schools have emerged, as have passionate rivalries. To remain more emblematic of the community and its many high school, the Association will change its name to the North Atlanta Football League (NAFL).
With the emergence of several high schools in north Fulton County, NAFL has announced that starting in the fall, it will align with Alpharetta, Cambridge and Milton high schools and will become their official youth feeder program.

Flag players in kindergarten through first grade and tackle players in second through fifth grade will play for the high school district in which they reside.
“NAFL would like to give a gracious and sincere thank you to the city of Alpharetta for 40 years of support and being such a huge part of youth football in our community,” said NAFL Athletic Director Rusty Reed in a press release. ”North Park and Wills Park have been our home stadiums and the city of Alpharetta has been an incredible host. We look forward to the next 40 years.”
If you do not live in one of the aforementioned school districts, no need to fret. Kids from Johns Creek, Roswell and south and west Forsyth County have played with the AYFA for years. Registration will be open to all players and those children will be placed on the appropriate team.
“With this change, we remain committed to teaching the fundamentals of football, player safety and emphasizing the maximum playing time of each player,” the League continued in the press release. “There can and will be multiple teams from each age group aligned to their respective high school and we will optimize the number of players per team. Our coaches will have access to feeder coaches, philosophy and instruction to help leverage and maximize our alignment with each school.”
In addition to the rebranding, the NAFL will compete with other youth feeder programs in the north metro Atlanta area.
The regular season and playoff game schedule will include both inter-league games between NAFL teams plus games with programs like Marietta, Roswell, Kell, Pope, Sprayberry, Walton and Wheeler youth feeder programs.
