Buddy Bags Help Comfort Children Who Witness or Are Victims of Crime

Alpharetta First United Methodist Church has donated the bags to the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office to distribute.

An Alpharetta church has reached out to a neighboring jurisdiction’s sheriff’s office to help them comfort children who may be victims of crime or have witnessed a criminal incident.

Alpharetta First United Methodist Church has donated so-called Buddy Bags to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, which will help deputies comfort children in the aftermath of experiencing some form of trauma. 

Each bag includes a teddy bear, blanket, story book, puzzle book, crayons and paper to draw on.

“As deputies, we frequently encounter young victims (or) witnesses who may be frightened and in need of a teddy bear or toy to make them feel better,” the sheriff’s office wrote on its Facebook page.
