Children's Healthcare Benefits From Alpharetta School's Bike-A-Thon

Alpharetta Christian Academy students hold Bike-a-Thon and raise $4,352 for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

Alpharetta Christian Academy (ACA) actively teaches children to give back to the community in an age appropriate manner. This fall, ACA went beyond its typical service project to hold 3 fundraisers to help others in need.

Most recently, children age three and up rode their bicycles and scooters in a bike-a-thon to benefit Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA).

Throughout the week, each class had a scheduled time to ride to help other children. Thanks to the efforts of children, parents, and teachers, ACA raised $4352 to give to CHOA.

According to CHOA, this money “will be used to help pay for healthcare for a child whose family otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford to have them treated.”

Earlier in the fall, the school held a hat day for CURE Childhood Cancer and raised $1525 and an Ice Bucket Challenge for ALS which received $800. Ms. Klaus’s kindergarten class explained their efforts by saying, “Serving is a way we show others that we love them!”
