Comcast To Close Alpharetta Office

239 part-time employees will be relocated while another 290 will be directed to apply for 180 call center job opportunities.

ALPHARETTA, GA — Comcast has announced it will not renew the lease for its facility in Alpharetta, a move that will lead to the closure of cable and internet giant's office. The lease for the office on North Point Parkway will expire June 1, said company spokesperson Alex Horwitz.

Horwitz said Comcast wants to embark on a "broader effort to more efficiently distribute our workforce in metro Atlanta to provide better support for customers."

Even though the expiration is five months away, Comcast will phase out the existing of the building between now and June. A total of 239 part-time employees will be relocated to other parts of metro Atlanta, Horwitz added.

These employees perform a variety of roles for Comcast, including support for customers seeking to set up new services, dispatching technicians and providing support for business customers across the division.

However, another 290 part-timers are also being impacted, and these employees are being directed to apply for 180 call center job opportunities around metro Atlanta.

"As for our local presence, we are actually growing our Atlanta area workforce in 2018, in particular adding jobs at our new Central Division headquarters next to SunTrust Park," Horwitz added.
