Alpharetta, GA -- This may not come as a surprise to its loyal customer base, but Da Vinci’s Donuts has been named by Thrillist as one of the Best Donut Shops in America.

The digital lifestyle publication picked Da Vinci’s along with 32 other donut shops across the country to round out their list of the best.
To determine the winners, the editorial staff stuffed their faces with donuts over the course of the year, making note of the ones they liked the best.

They also took suggestions from other staffers and freelancers who argued in favor of the ones they adored.
“And then we all argued about the list for a while until we got it down to 33,” staff members said. ”Point being: we actually ate the donuts, and now we want you to eat them too.”
Da Vinci’s has two locations in metro Atlanta, 131 S. Main Street Suite F in Alpharetta and 5610 Glenridge Drive Suite 103 in Sandy Springs.
Melissa Rudd opened the Alpharetta location with her husband in 2014, and Perimeter location opened in 2015.
The place “draws inspiration from making donuts with her family as a child, and her small, dunkable cake donuts are a refreshing throwback to, well, simpler times,” Thrillist Senior Cities Director Liz Childers notes.
“You can grab some of the elaborate orders like the caramel apple that’s stuffed with apple pie filling and coated in an oozing caramel icing, but stick with classics: I dare you not to fall under the basic powdered’s instant nostalgia-inducing power and picture Saturday mornings with a bag of the bite-size grocery store bites,” she adds.
