Hidden Camera Found Inside Starbucks Restroom In Alpharetta
A woman who made the discovery told Alpharetta police the camera was taped to a baby changing station.

ALPHARETTA, GA — Alpharetta police are investigating the discovery of a camera found inside a restroom at Starbucks. The camera, which was discovered Tuesday by a female patron, was found underneath the restroom's baby changing station, which is located directly in front of the toilet seat, according to a police incident report.
Alpharetta officers responded around 11 a.m. April 17 to the coffee shop at 2705 Old Milton Parkway and met with the woman, who said she was using the restroom when she noticed a small camera and battery pack attached to the changing station.
The woman said she removed the camera and informed the shift manager on duty about the discovery. According to the report, the shift manager said he would file a report with Starbucks' corporate office. However, the woman said she believed police should be notified about the discovery, which is why she called 9-1-1.

The shift manager provided the officer with the camera, battery pack and USB cord. That manager told police "he followed company policy and filed an incident report with the appropriate personnel." The officer asked the manager if he was told by corporate officials not to call the police, but the employee said that was not the case.

"[The shift manager] said he figured he'd end up calling the police, but wanted to confirm with a higher manager to make sure," the report adds.
Once the camera was connected to a computer using a USB cord, the officer could see between 20 and 25 videos were made using the device. Several videos were recorded of people using the restroom, the report adds. The shift manager said Starbucks could provide access to store surveillance cameras if investigators could provide the date and time they believe the camera was installed in the bathroom.
Patch has reached out to Starbucks for comment and is waiting to hear back from the business. Officer Howard Miller with Alpharetta police said the incident remains under investigation and no suspects have been identified.
