Milton’s 4th Of July Fireworks 2020 Canceled
Milton's traditional Fourth of July events may be canceled, but there are several other ways you can celebrate the holiday safely.
MILTON, GA — July 4 events across the country will not look the same this year thanks to the coronavirus. Many cities and towns have been forced to cancel the annual Fourth of July events, including in Milton. Although Milton’s traditional event on July 3, including a community gathering and “walking parade” have been canceled, organizers aim to find other ways to mark the occasion citywide.
The Crabapple Community Association and City of Milton, which partner on the festivities, together made the decision mindful of health authorities’ guidelines and recent trends. It mirrors the cancellations of July 4 and other events around our region for similar reasons.
That said, the City of Milton and Crabapple Community Association are exploring other ways how to bring the community together around this time. This might include things like encouraging people to dress-up patriotically then post photos on the city's Facebook page; to decorate bikes, wagons, houses and more and also let the city know and also share them; and to answer July 4-themed trivia questions and more. While Milton’s July 3 activities take place in the Crabapple area, these types of activities are for the entire city of Milton – so anyone, anywhere can participate.
