Both projects will be funded using the voter-approved Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax. This 0.75-percent (3/4 cent), five-year referendum, which was approved in November 2016 by Fulton County voters outside the city of Atlanta, is estimated to bring in roughly $37 million to the city of Milton to fund transportation projects. Both intersection projects were identified as Tier 1 projects to be funded with the tax.
