Police ID Body Found Near S.R. 400

The 24-year-old woman was found dead Dec. 27 in a wooded area near Forsyth County's border with Alpharetta.

Investigators with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office have identified the woman found dead in a wooded area near McFarland and Ridgeland parkways near the north Fulton County border.

Julia Miller of Douglasville was found dead around noon Dec. 27 by several deer hunters walking through the area, Forsyth sheriff’s office spokesperson Robin Regan said in a press release.

Detectives estimate Miller’s body had been in the woods for two months. No trauma was found on the body, and no foul play is suspected at this time, the agency said in a press release.

The sheriff’s office said Miller was last seen in the area around 10:15 p.m. Oct. 28 after she was allegedly involved in a shoplifting incident at a nearby RaceTrac convenience store.

“At the time of the incident in October, Miller’s vehicle was located abandoned at a nearby industrial park by a deputy responding to the shoplifting call,” Regan added. “The body was located approximately 500 feet from this location, deep in the woods.”

Miller also had an active warrant out of Forsyth County and had not been reported missing by any family or friends.
