Pedestrian Struck By Vehicle In Alpharetta

A preliminary investigation indicates the driver failed to yield to the pedestrian in the crosswalk on South Main Street at Wills Road.

ALPHARETTA, GA -- A pedestrian was hit Wednesday morning while crossing an Alpharetta intersection.

The accident was reported around 8 a.m. Sept. 14 along South Main Street at Wills Road, Alpharetta Department of Public Safety spokesperson George Gordon said.

The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital and "will be okay," Gordon said.

A preliminary investigation indicates the driver "failed to yield" to the pedestrian in the crosswalk.

This latest incident comes on the heels of last week's fatal accident involving a pedestrian who was hit while exiting a MARTA bus.

In that case, a 36-year-old male got off the bus at the stop, entered Haynes Bridge Road from behind the bus and was hit by 2011 white Lexus, police previously told Patch.
