SAR Piedmont Chapter presents US Flag to Sope Creek Elementary School

Cobb County Fourth-Grade students from Sope Creek Elementary School were honored by the SAR Piedmont Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution, by the presentation of a new United States Flag for the school.

On February 16, 2023, members of the Piedmont Chapter, Georgia Society, Sons of the American Revolution, George Thurmond, Bob Sapp and Stacey McCarver, presented a new United States Flag to over 200 Sope Creek Elementary School Fourth-grade students. The flag has been flown over the U.S. Capital in honor of the students with the help of the office of the then 6th District U.S. Representative Lucy McBath.

The Sons of the American Revolution is a national patriotic, historical and educational society whose members are direct descendants of the patriots who earned our independence.
