SAR Piedmont & VFW Post 12002 support Atlanta Female Veterans
SAR Piedmont Chapter & VFW Post 12002 did a Fund Raiser for the Atlanta Female Veterans which was a Golf Ball Drop Raffle.

The Piedmont Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) conducted their fourth annual fund-raise for Veterans on Monday, November 13, 2023. The fund-raise featured a golf ball drop raffle under beautiful blue skies at the Brookfield Country Club in Roswell. The golf ball drop was administered by the Roswell Fire Department, who dropped the raffled balls from a bucket truck high above the golf course. The closest ball to the hole earned one lucky participant a $1000 first place prize.
Proceeds from this year’s fund-raise/raffle will be presented to the Atlanta Veterans Hospital in mid-December. The funds will be used to support the Women Veterans operations at the Hospital. The city of Atlanta and surrounding area has the highest concentration of Women Veterans in the United States. Donations provide major assistance during times of need. Thanks to the generosity of the local community, this year’s fund drive doubled the proceeds from last year.
The Piedmont SAR Chapter began what has become their annual Veterans Fund Drive in 2020, led by Compatriot Joe Zimmerman. This year’s drive and future drives are in his memory. For more information on the Veterans Fund Raise or the Piedmont SAR Chapter, visit piedmontchapter.org.
