STEM-Focused High School Planned For North Fulton

The Fulton County School System will hold a community meeting March 28 at the Milton Center in Alpharetta.

ALPHARETTA, GA -- The Fulton County School System wants your input on its new STEM-focused high school campus planned for the North Fulton area.

A community meeting will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. March 28 at the Milton Center's media center.

Scheduled to open by Fall 2020 on the site of the former Milton High School, the building will host college and career-focused curriculum pathways with a focus in the areas of Engineering, Healthcare Science, and Information Technology.

The community meeting will share information on STEM curriculum pathways and how they can be most beneficial in preparing students for their post-secondary options, whether it's through a two- or four-year college experience or through directly entering the workforce with specialized skills.

As a first step in the engagement process, the system hosted visioning workshops earlier this month with school leaders, teachers, students, and industry experts in healthcare, information technology, and post-secondary educational institutions to discuss curriculum pathways and how the campus can link the work of students to real world, project-based learning opportunities.
