Suspect Robs Alpharetta McDonald's At Gunpoint

Employees said the man, who was wearing a McDonald's uniform, jumped through the drive-thru window and demanded "all the money."

ALPHARETTA, GA -- Police are looking for the man sporting a McDonald's uniform who robbed the fast food establishment at gunpoint last week in Alpharetta. Officers were dispatched to the call of a robbery in progress around 10:26 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8 to McDonald's at 305 South Main Street.

Cops arrived on the scene and met with employees, who said a male subject brandishing a handgun "jumped through the drive-thru window of the business and demanded money," according to an incident report released by the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety.

According to the report, the man, described as a black male with short dreadlocks, asked for the manager and told the employees to hand over "all the money." While the robbery was taking place, one employee said she was able to run from the restaurant, flag down a motorist and asked that person to call 911. As she was leaving the premises, she told police she saw another black male who was wearing a McDonald's shirt and had another black shirt wrapped around his head.

Two employees recounted to police that they were cleaning in the kitchen area of the restaurant when the male subject entered the business. The suspect grabbed one of those employees by the shirt and "forced him to the front of the store, the report adds.

The suspect pointed the handgun at the employee and demanded the keys to the register. The employee handed over the keys -- which also included the key to his 2014 Chrysler 200 -- to the suspect, who typed in a code to open the cash registers.

The suspect removed two cash drawers, ran out the front door and stole the employee's red Chrysler 200 from the parking lot, the report said. Police responding to the robbery observed the vehicle peel out of the lot and drive northbound on Main Street towards Roswell Street "at a high rate of speed." Those officers began a brief pursuit, but lost sight of the vehicle as it approached Old Milton Parkway.
