3rd Person Charged With Murder In Killing Of Athens Man
All three men are from Athens and are charged in the Northview Drive shooting that killed another Athens man.
ATHENS, GA — A third arrest has been made in the shooting death of 24-year-old Ja'Vanni McDavid, Athens-Clarke County Police said Monday.
The Athens resident was shot around 12:15 a.m., March 5, at Northview Drive and was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. McDavid later died from those injuries, police said on March 10.
Jaden Appling, 20, of Athens, is being charged on suspicion of murder, police said Monday.

Glendarius Tate, 20, and Anthony Brown, 19, both of Athens, were previously arrested in the case and charged on suspicion of murder, police said.
A motive in the shooting has not been released.
