Athens Woman Found Dead Last Seen At Clayton Dollar Store: Report

Debbie Collier, whose body was found in a Habersham County embankment, was last seen in Clayton purchasing supplies from a Family Dollar.

CLARKESVILLE, GA — Debbie Collier, whose body was found Sept. 11 in a Habersham County embankment, was last seen in a Clayton Family Dollar the same day, 11Alive reported Tuesday.

Collier's body was found near Victory Home Lane and Highway 441, the outlet previously reported. She was 59-years-old.

According to 11Alive, a store receipt showed Collier bought a rain poncho, refillable torch lighter, a 2-roll pack of paper towels, a 7.5x9.5 OBD Tarp and a reusable tote bag.

The outlet received an incident report, in which a deputy said he located a red tote bag on its side beside Collier the day he found her body. A partially burnt blue tarp accompanied the tote bag, the outlet reported, citing the incident report.

According to 11Alive, Collier's husband reported last seeing her around 9 p.m., Sept. 9.

The sheriff's office said last week there is no evidence to support Collier's death was related to a kidnapping or suicide, according to media reports.
