Funeral Planned For Deborrah Collier, Athens Woman Found Dead
Deborrah Collier, whose body was found in a Habersham embankment exactly a month ago, was 'a loving wife and mother.'
ATHENS, GA — A private funeral service is planned for Deborrah "Debbie" Collier, an Athens woman whose body was found Sept. 11 in a Habersham County embankment, according to her obituary.
Born Sept. 2, 1963, Collier turned 59 years old nine days before her passing.
Collier was last seen buying supplies from a Family Dollar in Clayton on Sept. 10, the day she was reported missing, according to previous media reports.

According to Channel 2 Action News, Collier's husband, Steve, reported to dispatchers that his wife was absent when he arrived home that day, noting the rental van she had been driving was also gone.
Law enforcement has not released details of a possible suspect.

A motive is unknown.
"She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. After a long career at Athens First (Synovus), she went to work at Carriage House Realty, where she found a whole new group of friends. The joys of her life were her grandkids and growing various plants. She will be missed by all," her obituary read.
No date was given in the obituary for her funeral.
