• Metro Atlanta judge's gun accidentally fires inside restaurant, police say (wsbtv.com) — A gun accidentally fired inside Señor Bird's Tacos and Tequila Bar in downtown Athens when a Clayton County Superior Court judge reached for his wallet and his holstered handgun discharged. Athens-Clarke County police say no one was seriously hurt, though several patrons reported minor injuries from debris, and officers recovered the judge's Glock 27; authorities do not plan to file charges.
   

• No. 2 Georgia forces 4 turnovers in rout of Oklahoma (statenews.net) — Georgia fans in Athens watched the No. 2 Bulldogs dominate Oklahoma 41–13 at home, fueled by four forced turnovers and two rushing touchdowns from Chauncey Bowens. Quarterback Gunner Stockton added 171 passing yards and a score as Georgia extended its nonconference winning streak to 52 games, spoiling Oklahoma's first-ever trip to Athens.
